You have an option to install it to your hard drive rather than running it from Live CD.

Damn Small Linux

What's amazing about this linux distributation is it's small size but a lot of functionalities.
It's less than 50 MB and runs from Live CD or USB drive. You can copy the whole os from CD into your ram, that will enable you to use the cd drive also. There are almost every feature from web browsers like Firefox to pdf viewer to the remote access programs Rdesktop and VNCViewer. There is xmms to play all your audio songs(including mp3). But for the time being there is not a video player included. It also contains a command line CD/DVD burning software. There are some games and many other things.
